My husband and I will be at the Civit. port next September and would like to arrange for a private - or would love to include another couple or so! - tour of Rome. Has anyone used any tourguides or companies they would recommend?

While on a one week land vacation in Rome last year, we had a wonderful experience with Vatican Tours and Beyond. They also do port of call tours. Peter Zalewski, the owner, provided excellent communication prior to our arrival in Rome, and we enjoyed a fantastic tour with a delightful, well informed guide.

In Rome we used http://www.limoinrome.com/ and were thrilled with the service. They are flexible as to your schedule and very personable. We had a group of 7 (1 child) and they could not have been more helpful or cooperative. Even had somone wait in line for us at the Vatican so we wouldn't have to. (Or somehow got us right in.)
