Phone calls to and from ship

Was just wondering if we can receive phone calls/messages on the direct line in the cabin? How would we find out the phone number to the ship?

The ship's contact information should be included in your "kit" of documents...ask your TA to point out the info..

Thanks for the info. So can family from home call us on the ship directly?

Yes they can call however it is considered an emergency #..and it is prices accordingly...the one and only time we used the ships phone it was about $7.95 a minute...

The info will be in your cruise documents and also is on the Celebrity web site. We always leave the number along with a note that the caller will need a credit card as they have to pay the $7.95/minute charge when they call the ship. If you call them it will go on your ship board account.

 

A cell phone will usually work as well - at port on the port's local system at the appropriate international rate (assuming your phone gets international roaming service) and at sea of a special rate depending on your phone company - usually $2.50minute - as Celebrity has a cell system on board that is a joint venture with ATT/Cingular. Note that that service works fairly well on our last couple cruises, but isn't always a completely reliable connection.
