Rodney Bay

Can anyone tell me about Rodney Bay/beach? How far/much is the taxi? Can you readily get a taxi to/from Rodney Bay? We did Herod's Tour last year,(awesome) and went to the Jalousie Plantation and so we are now looking for something else to do.

It's about an hour's drive.....round trip (for two) should be about $35 including tip.

 

Rodney Bay has started a Friday Fish Fry to compete with Gros Islet and Anse Le Raye, so if you will be there then, plan on having a great dinner in a Festival or "Block Party" atmosphere.

 

Since you already know what the view looks like from Jalousie (totally rocks), you should consider having lunch at Ladera, where the views are not only awe inspiring, but will be something you will brag about for years to come. And, since you already know of and are pleased with Herod, you will be delighted to know he is one of the few that can get you hooked up at Ladera.

 

After lunch, then you can head down to Rodney Bay, and do the beach thing for a few hours after doing the town ..... the view from Anse Chastenet beach is priceless (let alone exclusive, on the North side of the Gros Piton), since the beach at Rodney Bay proper is pretty much just a strip of sand to park boats next to the sea wall. You are a hop-skip-and-a-jump to the Fish Fry (cooking starts around 4), and "you know who" can be sure to get you back in time to the ship. As always!
