terri1020 Posted January 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2008 We're traveling on the NCL Dawn in June to Bermuda. We are thinking of asking a cousin and her three 1/2 year old to join us. Does anyone know what they have to offer? He spends work days at day care, so we would LOVE it it the kid camp was a bit more fun than day care. Any information speaking from experience would be helpful. Thanks, Terri
KerCar Posted January 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Terri, I brought my two children 15 mo and 4 yo on their first cruise this past June. They had an absolute blast! NCL's kid's programs and facilities are top notch. We did the Spirit out of NYC. On the Dawn, in addition to the structured kid's crew activities throughout the day, there is a kid's pool area and video arcade. Your cousin's son will not be disappointed! Bermuda is one of my favorite places. Very family friendly and easy to get around. The perfect island to visit with young children. Good luck planning:)
terri1020 Posted January 22, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 22, 2008 I have one more question if you don't mind. We have one empty berth in an inside cabin. My mom will be in the other bed. We were wondering if we should upgrade to a larger cabin for the three of them or if we can make do with the inside. We don't intend to be in the cabins much but I was thinking that if he went to sleep early, to be able to hang out on a balcony might be nice. The ship we were on (the Spirit) doesn't have any balcony cabins for families of 4 so we did an inside cabin and it was fine. The room stays nice and dark which is a plus. The kids slept wonderfully all week! However, once the children went to bed there was not much for DH and I to do in the cabin other than read or go to bed. So if you have the opportunity to upgrade to a balcony cabin it might not be a bad idea. Sometimes the price difference isn't too bad.
