Mayfield Falls RCCL Excursion...

Excursion offered by RCCL(MJ47) A Mystic Adventure - waterfalls, rainforest & nature trail, depart MObay by bus to Lovers Paradise Mayfield Falls, swim/climb w/guide, etc.....$59.00pp. Has anyone taken this excursion - 4 hours........we are a family of 5 and would like to experience Jamaica while in port but don't want to go to Dunn's, our youngest child is 6-1/2..........should I book through ship or go elsewhere.........anyone have experience w/this excursion? Thx.

I did Mayfield Falls last Sept. (2007) and it was my favorite day off a ship ever! It is a beautiful place. However -- I booked it with a local guide -- Trevor Hudlin -- he was fabulous. Our group had 9 people and we saw 1 other small group all day. I don't think it would be nearly as good on a big ship excursion --- much too crowded. We swam, climbed, jumped off trees and cliffs and swam thru an underwater tunnel. After the Falls, Trevor took us back to the "Pork Pit" for an awesome local lunch of jerk pork!

Thanks for the tip! I may try Trevor Hudlin as just tried to book through RCCL (we are newbies and I just felt more comfortable) but the Mayfield excursion has an age limit of must be 16 and our kids are 11,9,6. Do you think his tours have age limits? Would this type of excursion be too much for kids??? I'm confused as to why RCCL excursion MJ47 is for age 16&up.

I'm not take a vacation but have been following this thread.......

 

FYI - I emailed him yesterday at information@trevorhudlintours.com and he emailed back within one day. No $ up front, $ due at end of tour(USdollar or traveller cheque). He quoted $40pp adult and $32pp (child 11 and under). Said in his email that tour is 5 hours. After Mayfield falls and lunch at the Pork Pit it sounds like optional beach&shopping stop. Anyone have info on A-Z Jamaica Planners in comparison to Trevor?

Their website also lists a Mayfield excursion w/stop at Marguaritiville or Dr. Cave Beach?????? Feedback appreciated. Thanks!
