Are The Beds New On The Golden?

Does the Golden Princess have new beds yet?

I actually find all these new bed questions a bit funny. As even the ships we have sailed on with the new beds, they weren't any better than the old beds. Still hard as a rock and like sleeping on a cement slab, honestly. Ask for an egg crate, the new beds are just as bad as the old beds on Princess, just not as many lumps. ;)

Oh Toto I would give anything for one of those "hard as a rock" beds.:D Every Princess cruise we have been on we have had those old beds that sag so much in the middle, the queen is like two slings tied together.

I just got off the Golden on Saturday and our bed was wonderful - very comfortable. I think they are in the process of changing out all the old mattresses. They were also changing carpeting in some of the rooms.

We have cruised twice on The Golden before and really have no complaints other than the beds.

I have a feeling you are going to be quite happy with the beds then. You won't miss those saggy, lumpy old things at all. But again, remember, when I say hard I mean really hard. An egg crate works wonders for more than one problem. It helps disquise that lump they put in the middle when they push two twins together to make a queen.

Thank you Marcybeth for your comments. I have been on ships where they have changed the bed and it is very comfortable, especially with the comforters they have.

We were on the Golden right after Thanksgiving. At that time we saw about 30 new matresses going on. It is our understanding that a certain number of beds are "turned over" on each cruise.

 

We were amidship on Caribe and had OLD MATRESSES. That was about nine cruise ago, so who knows if there are still old matresses onboard...

Does anyone know if the mattresses are new on the Coral? Also what do they mean when they say that mini-suites have "premium" mattresses?

we got new matresses on our dec 1 07 cruise, we were on te aloha deck.
