Stacey779 Posted January 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2008 I'm wondering if the Australia/New Zealand cruise itineraries typically include guest lecturers that tell you about the history and culture of the ports, etc. When we went on our Alaska cruise we really enjoyed learning about the gold rush, wildlife, etc. from our on-board naturalist. The cruise we're thinking of doing is a 12-day on the Diamond Princess from Auckland to Sydney (stops in Tauranga, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hobart, and Melbourne). I'm hoping they'll have some lectures on the sea days. Thanks in advance for any information! :)
M&A Posted January 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Yes, on our Sapphire Princess cruise through Fjordland last April we had a Park Ranger who gave lectures and running commentary as we proceeded through Southern New Zealand. We also had an expert on Captain Cook who gave many lectures on the voyages of Cook. There were others too but I can't remember them all.
eh2zed Posted January 22, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Our Statendam cruise this fall had 2 lecturers. They covered Captain Cook, Maori culture, etc.
