Not doing excursions this time

We'll be going to Cabo for the third time this spring. We've done the land tour and we've gone snorkeling. This time we don't plan on doing any excursions. We just want to get off the boat at our leisure and visit the town. Any suggestions on where to go or what to do for a family with two little ones?

How about playing in the sand on the beach. I've also heard there are hotels with fun pools you can go to hang out at. The littleones can swim and run around and you can have a cocktail... in the pool, no doubt.
