Monty'sMomandDad Posted January 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2008 We will be on the Serenade of the Seas Panama Canal cruise April 19th. Does anyone know if you need any required immunization for Columbia? Thanks
wtcruzr Posted January 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2008 Being that you will be on a cruiseship none are required. The yellow fever is required if you are going into the jungles for an overnight stay. It was recomended to us by our family doctor to have current flu, tetanus, pneumonia, and hepatitus A immunizations. Those are just good anytime you are around lots of people in close living conditions. P.S. We are doing the canal next month, just different ship. Bigdvainfl Posted December 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Will be on MSC Lirica January 2009. One Port of Call is Cartagena Columbia. Contacted MSC about Any Special Immunization Shots Required. They Will Not Advise, Suggested Google For Information, but They Require You To Have Immunization Records. Can anyone comment on US Citizen having to get any Special Immunization Shots (ie, Yellow Fever, exc.) for a One Day Visit to Columbia? Thanks, Bigdvainfl

Flipflopsnfrozendrinks Posted December 5, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2008 We are heading there in Feb. I am planning on calling a local MD who specializes infectious diseases (I think). My pedi gave me his number when I asked about immunizations for all our ports. Maybe there is a specialist in your area, your PCP would know. Once I speak with him, I will post any info I get. If you are a senior and/or have health issues, you may want to consult with your physician. If you google for information, be sure to use the correct spelling: "Colombia." Otherwise you may end up with advice for visiting Missouri.
