RCCL Dive Trips in Grand Cayman and Cozumel

Has anyone ever been on a RCCL dive excursion in Cozumel or Grand Cayman? How was it? Was it a "cattle boat"?

I wanted to try and book our own excursions but I'm getting a little nervous about doing that b/c of the time differences, tendering issues, etc. We are first time cruisers.

Please help!

Check our Cozumel recommendation at http://www.cruisedivers.blogspot.com. For Grand Cayman, there's plenty of options. We've done the ship's excursion a couple of times, and done shore dives at Eden Rock http://www.edenrockdive.com a few times as well. Timing has never been a factor there, in fact we've done a two tank from a boat, then returned to Eden Rock for a third dive with time to spare.

gmcrow, Thank you for responding. I was beginning to think no one has done the cruise planned dives.
I don't think that is the case, just that generally CC members are more knowledgeable about excursions and as such tend to make their own arrangements.

For Grand Cayman, I like http://www.neptunesdivers.com or for shore diving I'd pick http://www.sunsethouse.com

There are lots of choices in Cozumel.

My personal favorite is Christi's http://www.bluextseadiving.com

Others to consider are: http://www.scubawithalison.com

We have been on two cruises stopping in Cozumel and have been diving both times with scubawithalison. She is fantastic. The first time we left time to have lunch and a bit of shopping downtown. The second time we had them drop us off at a beach club where we enjoyed lunch and the ocean and then took a taxi back to the ship. Both days were fantastic!!!!!!

That is a good idea. I think most small dive boat operators would be happy to drop you off at one of the West side beach clubs, depending on where your last dive is located of course.
