popsec Posted May 4, 2008 #326 Share Posted May 4, 2008 We're just back from the B2B....2 5 day cruises. Some highlights for us.... Amie, the casino bartender was exceptional! If you see her, tell her "Hi" from Ray & Linda Our cabin steward, Andi, was superb! The Lido deck band was great! Xcentrique was the name of the group. After hearing so many really awful pool bands, this one was a treat! Half Moon Cay was awesome!....nice beach and grounds Loved Margueritaville in Grand Turk....super nice pool and loungers...I could have stayed there forever! Discovered a resort area in Grand Caymen that the crew goes to...$4 cab ride to get there, 3 pools (some with waterfalls), lovely beach with nice snorkeling area, plenty of lounge chairs Nassau...I never get tired of wandering around Atlantis The not so good.... Our cabin flooded twice outside the bathroom Ochos Rios....not one of my favorite ports but we walked around and did some shopping Since they refitted with the new waterworks area and serenity area they've done away with some of the other smoking areas so the Lido deck area where you could smoke was always pretty crowded. I miss the pool that used to be on the deck above the Lido deck The casino....We were talking to the pit boss one night and asked him what the slots were set for.......80%!......no wonder the machines seemed so tight on this ship! Overall it was a fun cruise with gorgeous weather for 9 1/2 of the 10 days. We met some fun cruisers and had a good time! Any questions, ask away..... corinnv Posted May 4, 2008 #328 Share Posted May 4, 2008 I am starting to get excited! It's getting close for us! We are on the 4 day..Key West & Cozumel itinerary. Thanks for the info. I have read a lot about Jorge. He sounds like so much fun. I think, however, he won't be our cruise director when we sail on 5/29. Does anyone know? :D

Ray- I take it you got around fine with your injury--Good for you! DW and I are leaving tommorrow on the Imagination for the Eastern itinerary :D . Questions: Is Carnival still serving lunch on HMC and if so, what did they serve? When did lunch start on HMC AND about what time were you able to get off the ship after docking for Grand Turk and HMC? What was the cause of the bathroom flooding and was it just an isolated incident or was it happening to others? Are there still 4 seperate seatings for dinner or are we now down to two on that ship? Did you notice new menu changes in effect in main dining with the change in Carnival's cruise-wide head chef? AND FINALLY: PLEASE tell me you found a loose slot somewhere. At 80% I may as well take my chances at the roulette table!! THANKS SO MUCH AND CONGRATS ON A SUCCESSFUL B2B!!!! Scott
Fergus Posted May 4, 2008 #330 Share Posted May 4, 2008 Hi all, Glad to see this thread! I've tried to start a roll call thread for our Imagination cruise on 7/28/08, but no takers yet. We are a group of 8 - 4 girls with special needs celebrating their high school graduations, and their 4 moms. Any tips on particular shipboard activities or places the girls might find interesting and fun? Their disabilities are not physical, and they all enjoy typical teenager-type things. Our ports are Half Moon, Grand Turk, and Nassau. In Nassau we're planning the Blue Lagoon dolphin swim, haven't planned anything for GT, will probably just do a quiet beach day at Half Moon (well, as quiet as it can be with these four!!) Looking forward to hearing from those of you who have been on the Imagination recently! Libby
popsec Posted May 4, 2008 #331 Share Posted May 4, 2008 Hi Ray and Linda, Glad your B2B went so well! Ray- I take it you got around fine with your injury Actually it was me, Linda, with the broken foot....pic below taken in Grand Turk--Good for you! DW and I are leaving tommorrow on the Imagination for the Eastern itinerary :D . Questions: Is Carnival still serving lunch on HMC and if so, what did they serve? Yes, lunch was served...there was hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, salads, fruits, brownies, cookies, juices...don't remember what else. We went early and avoided the crowds. It's down past the "I wish I could stay here forever" bar When did lunch start on HMC it started a little before noon AND about what time were you able to get off the ship after docking for Grand Turk and HMC? I didn't pay much attention since we had priority tendering at HMC and just walked off at Grand Turk What was the cause of the bathroom flooding and was it just an isolated incident or was it happening to others? Don't know what caused it but the carpet actually splashed outside the bathroom door the 2nd time and it seeped out into the hallway. There was no odor so it was probably ckean water. Never did find out what caused it and it really didn't affect us that much. Didn't hear of anyone else having a problem Are there still 4 seperate seatings for dinner or are we now down to two on that ship? Did you notice new menu changes in effect in main dining with the change in Carnival's cruise-wide head chef? Just 2 dinner seatings and the only new things I noticed were mac & cheese on the menu and they'd changed the sweet & sour shrimp recipe AND FINALLY: PLEASE tell me you found a loose slot somewhere. At 80% I may as well take my chances at the roulette table!! Wish I could but I got massacred every night at the slots. We went to Atlantis and I played awhile in the casino there.....much better odds! You'll love HMC & Grand Turk!!.......gorgeous!!!! Have a wonderful cruise!....and if you think of it, please tell Amie at the casino bar that we miss her already! THANKS SO MUCH AND CONGRATS ON A SUCCESSFUL B2B!!!!
