Time frame for NCL Beach Break?

We are thinking about booking with NCL because they tender directly to the beach, as opposed to tendering to the city than back out with an independent. However, I was curious about the time with NCL - the excursion is listed as starting at 8:30 and lasting 4 hours. Will we be back on the ship by 12:30? That leaves a lot of time to fill before the ship leaves at 6:00. The Coral Breeze tour starts at 10:00, and with 2 kids to get up and fed, the extra time in the morning might be nice. Any input from those who have been on the tour would be appreciated. Thanks
