How Clean is the Water PV Pam?

Perhaps this is a question for PV Pam or for anyone else in the know. I stayed in a resort right in PV a few years ago, went swimming there and jumped 3 feet out of the water when I saw I was about to swim through raw sewage! Please tell me they've cleaned things up. Or, are there certain beaches to avoid on Banderas Bay? We'll be staying in Real del Mar but would like to check out some other beaches.

If you come to PV from June through mid November there is a huge run off of mud, trees, etc from the rivers right into the bay. It's yucky and brown. To be honest the only time I have EVER heard of someone seeing sewage to into the bay was a few years ago at Los Muertos Beach near the Tropicana Hotel. Where you will be staying is an area of absolutely gorgeous beaches!
