bgcruiser Posted January 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2008 We had a wonderful 4 day cuise! Embarkation was great with our VIP check in, but didn't hear any complaints about regular lines either. We had a Cat 12 state room. Absolutely fabulous with all the rehab. In fact it seems the only spaces that still need the re-do is the Lido deck/pools areas. The ship was very clean and well maintained. Staff and service got high marks from us as well. The food was very good to excellent in the dining room. Our servers, Fang and Wini were efficent and pleasant to converse with. The lobster was the best cruise lobster we have ever encountered in 6 carnival cruises (and one Celebrity). Chef Gamel needs to work his magic on a few other ships in the fleet as the food on our Inspiration cruise last year did not compare favorably at all. Ports were Key West and Cozumel. We docked in the navy yard at Key West. Weather was not good with cloudy skies and rain. But we went out into town for shopping and lunch. Cozumel was perfect. We did have to tender but because we were the only ones needing that service it was very smooth. The weather was about as good as it gets. Clear skies, low 80's. We went to Passion Island again for another great beach day. Last sea day we once again had perfect weather. Debarkation went smooth. By 830 am all the numbers had been called but we never felt rushed. In fact we headed up to the Lido deck for breakfast at 8 and at 830 when we left there were passangers just hitting the buffet lines. We went back to our cabin to collect our things and headed off the ship. Easily found our luggage on the carosel and grabbed a cab acroos the street to pick up our Avis rental. If anyone has any questions, please ask away.
vicnlou Posted January 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2008 Glad to hear that you had a nice cruise. My family of five will be going the 14th of April. You said you had to tender in Cozumel. I have a handicap daughter in a wheelchair do you think it is at all possible for her to go ashore? She can transfer with our help. Please let me know it would be appreciated. How was the food? I can't wait until we go. Need the sun and the fun. Thanks Louise:)

bgcruiser Posted January 27, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted January 27, 2008 vicnlou, We saw many passangers who required assistance around the ship and even on the tenders. We saw a wheelchair bound passanger being gently carried off the tender in Cozumel as we waited to get off ourslves. Carnival reps were repeatedly making annoucements as we were boarding and during the first day that Carnival now assigns a special crew member to each passanger with limited mobility to assist them as required. I don't see any problems with tendering other than the usual bumping of the gang plank if the waves are choppy. Its been my experience with tendering in any port that the crew and officers take their jobs very seriously and are always looking out for the welfare of the passangers and even halt the process if things get too rough. The food was wonderful. Two big thumbs up to chef Gamel. Your family will have a great cruise!

My hubby will be visiting for sure.:( I'll keep in touch if i have anymore questions. thanks again louise We just got off a 4 day cruise on the Fascination and had a great time as usual! Food was good in the dining room except for the steaks, which quite a few people said were tough. I didn't have much luck in the casino except for the last nite, when I won a couple hundred dollars (which in no way made up for what I'd lost up to that point  ) We enjoyed going to the piano bar and listening to Collin...he had a dry sense of humor. Also, ask him to play some of his "original songs" and his version of the "piano man" You'll have a super time on the Fascination!
pugsnickety Posted January 30, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2008 I am going on the Fascination in February. I wanted to know if I could where a dressy knee length pair of shorts with a silk blouse and heels for dinner.
