cactuslady Posted September 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Oh my gosh, it looks like we're flying out of here just in time. The National Weather Service has posted a Special Weather Statement regarding Hurricane Javier. It seems that there is a chance of rain -- we might get up to an inch. And only a couple of weeks after we got a little from Hurricane Howard. That's the way it is here in Arizona. We're having a chilly fall, too. Only up to about 99 today. (My deepest apologies to everyone east of the Mississippi--you've all suffered greatly and I wish you the best. It's just that the contrast strikes me as more than a little ridiculous. We always get off so easy and have done nothing to deserve it.)
Maryandi Posted September 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Thanks for all your kind words-Florida is surely in the bullseye this year -anyone who has been thru ONLY 1 hurricane this year sure is in the minority ! I'll never take elec. or ice for granted, ever. We are having your 90* fall, too. Now, Ivan has ruined the SE states, too. Take care all, MaryAnn
arzz Posted September 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2004 The southwest may get off easy when it comes to rain but you do, on the other hand have forest fires -- so mother nature does have a way of harrassing you also -- all comes out in the end...... Charliesmom Posted September 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2004 I'm glad to hear that Arizona is getting some rain, because of the 5 year drought you have been suffering. I'm also glad it is coming AFTER our trip there. Roberta
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Ivan the Terrible hit our area pretty badly yesterday. We set records for rainfall in a 24 hour period. Many areas are flooded. Bad year for storms every where.
