Seeling Input & Advice

We are planning on taking our first cruise with a good set of friends (no kids). So far, we have settled on Alaska to Seattle cruise with one week driving around in Alaska in July 2008 time frame. In order to narrow down the choice, I am looking for input on cruise liner, ship class, and whether north bound is better or south bound. Any advice/input on spending the week in Alaska (we'll rent a car) would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your input.

You will have to do an Alaska to Vancouver cruise. The Alaska cruises out of Seattle are only roundtrips (due to a law called the Passenger Services Act).

I recommend posting your question on the Alaska Ports of Call board as there are many helpful posters over there.
