CP Anytime Dining Questions

We'll be going on the Caribbean Princess Feb10. Have a question about anytime dining. We're confirmed for anytime dining (so assume we're going to get it). Just wondering how the whole process works. I know there are 2 dining rooms setup for anytime dining. On the first night do we simply show up at one of the dining rooms, tell how many in your party and then get seated (with a possible wait depending on the time you're trying to eat)? For future nights do we do the same (just show up) or can you call ahead to make a reservation? I also read in some posts that after the first night you can request the same table and/or same time, same waiter, etc. Do you do this in person during your dining time? Do you call a phone number to make the reservation?

We love "anytime" dining because, just as the title says ... you can go anytime. So, we've never attempted to pick one specific table and time. For us that would defeat the entire reason for having anytime dining ... no rush back from shore ... you want to stop to have a drink before dinner, etc. But, I have heard that you can get a specific table and a specific time each night if you make arrangements through the dining room manager.

You can call ahead and reserve a table or you can just show up at either of the dining rooms for your meals. You can ask for a table for 2 or you can sit with other people. You can change it up the whole cruise, have dinner alone or share an evening with some new friends. Check out both dining rooms when you board and see if you prefer one over the other. We did like one better, the Coral, since it is closer to being midship and has a bit less movement. The Palm is located in the back of the ship.

The CB is a beautiful ship, we are set to sail on 2/24 and this will be our 2nd time.

The line at the Palm is usually a lot shorter than at the Coral. The Coral is right off the main atrium and there is a lot of foot traffic there. The Palm is under Club Fusion and less people seem to know about it. We showed up at the Coral around 7 and had a half hour wait to get to the maitre d' station. We said we were willing to sit at a larger table so we didn't have to wait after that. People wanting a smaller table were usually given a pager.

Hee Hee Hee, maybe we should just start spelling all the names out, all of the time. I can't keep track either. :D
Well, it doesn't take more than a second or two to do so. :) I thought from the Subject that the question was about the Sea Princess too.

The "CP" confusion is related to the fact that there could be 3 "CP's" (Caribbean, Coral & Crown) and 4 "SP's" (Sapphire, Star, Sea & Sun). So, after the first CP and SP were taken ... confusion reigned supreme!!!

I always figured using the first 2 letters would be sufficient, but why do something the easy way LOL

Thank you all for the feedback.......who makes up these abbreviations? Guess CP for Caribbean Princess makes too much sense!
These are the official abbreviations "made up" by Princess to identify their ships. It's not arbitrary or something that CC members have decided to do. When the Sea Princess was launched, SP was already in use so they used "CP"; then came the Coral, then Caribbean and Crown. The CB is way down the list for even possibly being "CP" so it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. :)
