SCFCRUISER Posted February 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Just got off the ship yesterday. A lot has been posted on this site about a sewage smell on the ship. We didn't notice anything until late in the week, but it was not that bad, anytime they work on the plumbing you are going to get that. As far as the ship itself goes, it does need some work as far as lighting goes, there were a lot of led light bulbs out in the casino area. I notice things like that because I work in lighting. The ship was very clean & was maintained in one way or another every night. They were also painting every night & at stops in port as well. The food in the main restaurant was for the most part very good. The steaks were as good as you can get at home. The food in the buffet lunch was good, & always had an omlette for breakfast which was good also. Just remember, this is a ship & not a 5 star restaurant!! Our dining room waiters were very good at table #210 on the upper level of the London Dining Room. The only thing that I was a little upset about was that they did not sell beers in the buckets anymore. In the past I always bought a bucket to save a few bucks. Also when the bus boys would clean off the tables in the food area on the lido deck they did not wipe them with a wet towel, which I am going to tell Carnival about in a seperate email. So, in closing, let your hair down & have a good time. Don't get upset about things that are out of your control. If you see something that is not right let sdomeone know about it, so they can take care of it. It's your vacation, relax & go for it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Steve. dan40 Posted February 3, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Those of us sailing on Triumph in the near future would like to hear from all those past Triumph cruisers who would like to share their experiences. Give us your favorite experience &/or least favorite experience of your Triumph Cruise. And don't hold anything back. My suggestion is to just go on YOUR cruise and forget about anybody else's cruise. I have done back to back cruises and done the same ship 2 months apart. On the B2B's the second weeks were completely different from the first. Not better or worse, just different [both great] I did the Pride 2 months apart, same itinerary. Again completely different. Each group of pax brings its own group personality. I stopped reading reviews some years ago. After reading a number of terrible reviews about particular sailings that I was on. Reviews saying the, "cruise from hell," and "everybody was complaining," "there was almost a mutiny," and other silliness. And there I was on the same ship at the same time and never running into anybody that was complaining or mutinous. We decided the unhappy just didn't take our cruise and we didn't take their cruise. Even on the same ship and sailing. Just go knowing you will have a great time and you will. Dan
jayscore Posted February 4, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2008 We've been on the Triumph twice. If it was so bad, would we book twice? We had a great time on both. Go for it!

jpg1747 Posted February 4, 2008 #14 Share Posted February 4, 2008 I really don't have anything negative to say about the ship itself. I liked my cabin (2445), I liked the layout, the food and the entertainment. I particularly liked having a glass of champage in the wine bar each night before dinner. I was very pleasantly suprised at the decor; I expected to to be slightly "louder" based on the pictures on the Carnival site. I wouldn't hesitate to sail on the Triumph again. UpstateCruizer Posted February 4, 2008 #16 Share Posted February 4, 2008 The Triumph was our first cruise ever! We went in June 07 and did the Eastern Itinerary. We loved it so much that as soon as we got back home we looked to see where it went on the Western itenerary. Booked that one to go 2 months later in August. Again loved everything about the experience and knew we were hooked. We didn't get to HMC because the tendering was stopped when the waters got too rough. By the time the ship repositioned and began tendering it was too late to head over for us. I am looking forward to going back to HMC one day. My absolute favorite port was Grand Cayman and it was truly the only time I ever wished I could have stayed much longer. The staff on the Triumph were extremely friendly and provided a great first cruise experience for us. Of course there's always going to be piddly things that you would change if you could be those are far outweighed by all the wonderful things on the Triumph :)
