CBussey64 Posted February 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2008 Going on first cruise in 28 days :D but I have horrible feet. I just had injections, have bone spurs, and will be injected the day we fly out ... I don't wear heels (I'm 5'10") and don't have cute feet ... size 11 W ... both of my formal night dresses are long and my cocktail dress for specialty dinner club is shorter ... wondering what kind would be appropriate ... 2 are black one is red and black so I can wear black shoes for all ... was thinking of sparkly ballet ... and wondering where you all recommend to look. Thanks in advance. :p
jp2001 Posted February 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2008 I'm not expert, this is only my personnal opinion but I think a sparkly ballet shoes will look bigger. If you go for ballet, I wouldn't go for sparkly. Here are some ideas, flat or low heel (1 1\4'' or less): http://www.zappos.com/images/732/7326357/1396-476811-d.jpg http://www.zappos.com/images/738/7385407/6219-563449-d.jpg http://www.zappos.com/images/731/7310380/7768-401903-d.jpg http://i.shoebuy.com/pi/phoen/phoen160601_89220_lg.jpg This one is my favorite but they don't list it under 11W, maybe you can find something similar: http://www.aldoshoes.com/static/webUpload/731/teagana_97_2.jpg
jvmgos Posted February 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2008 ColoradoSweatheart, I have only been on one cruise, so I am by no means an expert. I feel that if your feet give you trouble and you know the ballet flats will feel good, wear them. I didn't see many people looking at anyone's feet on my first cruise and if your dresses are long, they definately won't be the focus. Sparkly would make me feel better too. I love the bling and that is how I would go too! :D
sunlover5 Posted February 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2008 We have a $ general store where we live. I went in to get cleaning supplies and they had the cutest ballet shoes. I got a pair of black velvet ones to go with a black velvet casual pant suit. They had sparkly ones too. You might find a good deal now that the holidays are over. Go with what is comfortable. I never notice feet either!
dolphinwyo Posted February 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2008 Go and try several flats on - make sure you are comfy. Feet hurting with all the walking will make you miserable. I wear comfy whenever possible, and have just recently bought a pair of ballet flats at a regular discount shoe store (not sure if we can name names???) but they have the BOGO sale frequently...anyway, they were under $20, comfy, yet have a little bow to dress them up and have a cushion in the sole, so I think they will work. Break them in a little before your trip - and have fun!
GORDONCHICK Posted February 4, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2008 I would definitely go shoe shopping and try on what ever flats you thought dressy enough, but let fit and comfort be your guide.
ehfl Posted February 7, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2008 Try Crocs Allice or Celest models in black leather. http://www.crocs.com
