Not happy with Cecilia on Voyager!

Recommended Posts

Beware of trying to book "Next Cruise" on Voyager. We were on the January 13th sailing and on Tuesday I went to Cecilia's desk to inquire about "Next Cruise". She gave me for form to fill out and said to just bring it back to her at any time. I filled it out and put my credit card number on it.

Two days later I realized that I didn't have any kind of a receipt or booking number from Cecilia. I stopped back by her desk and she said, "they were really behind but it would be delivered to our cabin".

On Friday we had a message on our cabin phone from someone working in Cecilia's department who said that the confirmation would be delivered to our cabin by the end of the cruise.

Well you guessed it, it was never delivered. We've been home a couple of weeks now and I haven't heard anything. I thought that they would follow-up by mail but nothing so far.

So if you book a "Next Cruise" do not leave her desk without confirmation.

If booking a NextCruise was important to you.........then by all means call C&A and ask to speak to a supervisor and explain the situation. It never hurts to make them aware of how their employees and handling things on board the ships.

Same thing happened to me last week. I did call Crown and Anchor and was given the same story you got about them being so busy. Bull. In a nutshell, they basically told me they might do something if I called back next week, but I could forget about the additional friends coupon that she should have given me onboard!!! Maybe Adam Goldstein ought to hear how his employees are treating pax.

That's what I did. Except every time I went by there she was not there so finally I wrote down an appointment. When I went for my appointment she told me I just needed to fill out the form but I told her there were never any forms and she was never there when I wandered by. Because of what people on here have warned about your experience is why I decided to do it in person.

I've seen others post about this same issue, and The same thing almost happened to me on Mariner in July, so when I sailed again in January, I made an appointment just to do the Next Cruise.

Overall, the process is really flawed. First they ask you to put personal info on a piece of paper; god knows where they go. Second, thee are no checks and balances in the process to set expectations about when & how the request will be processed.

Holy DejaVu! I seriously had to look at your post date because I swear someone wrote the same post a few months ago. I don't know if it was the same ship but no doubt the same details. They gave CC#'s, were told they were too busy, would be delivered to the cabin later and it never happened.

You would think with GUARANTEED bookings they would put someone more responsible in charge? Or at least have more than one person taking care of it.

I agree, call C&A immediatly

The same thing happened to me on the Grandeur in November. My roommate and I both decided to book "next cruise" option. The person at the desk took the information and indicated that our confirmations would be delivered to our rooms later on. This was the day before we were to disembark. Nothing was ever delivered. So when we got back home, I check the credit card we used, and only one $100 charge for RC was there (which was for my roommate's next cruise). All I had to do was call RC explain the situation and they gave me the next cruise option, charged my cc $100, and emailed my confirmation. It was pretty easy really!

I wasn't on the Voyager, I was on the NOS in Dec. and the LA screwed mine up too. He said he would email me my confirmation So, I did have the Friends Certificate but I could not use them. When I called the C&A desk I explained what happened and they told me I should have checked my email before I got off the ship. I tried and after 15 minutes and still not being connected I thought I could trust him. Wrong!

I keep hearing about these issues with the LA. You would think that they would put someone very competent in this position. After all- they help bring in revenue for RCI!

I work in sales, and earn most of my income in commissions and bonuses. Maybe RCI needs to make this position the same way- pay only for successful bookings and nextcruises forms that are properly processed. Might help.

I sailed on Jan 27 and cecilla said she would make sure I got my Voyager crystal paperweiht since it was my 30th cruise and never followed through. I found the service on Voyager lacking a bit in general and specifically with the LA and head waiter.

Call C&A and they will send you your crystal paperweight.

It isn't only Voyager OR NextCruise.....

The LA on Enchantment in January screwed up my 2 bookings...of close to $6000.00! And went on vacaction.(figures!)..took me 4 phone calls totalling 3 hours on the phone, and two faxes before i got a person in customer service with a brain to fix it......they charged the deposit to the wrong CC, gave the wrong booking number to the Chief Purser for the booking deposit i paid in cash (won enough in the casino!!), never charged the correct amount for the OTHER cruise and I had to fix t!

Needless to say, THAT mess was also included in the missive i mailed to mr goldstein.....if the LAs don't want to do their jobs......

(however, 2 prior LAs and a helper LA were very nice!)

It worked just fine for me. I filled out the paperwork, left it with her after asking a question and got the envelope with 2 certificates along with my seapass account summary on my door on the final morning. They do need to have a secure place to drop them off since you have to put your credit card info on the paper.

IMO, I don't think it's so much that these folks are incompetent (although I'm sure there are a few :) ). I think it's a matter of RCI asking these folks to do too much - to be LAs and future cruise people. They are totally different jobs.

At least you got the form to fill out! We went to Cecilia's desk every day for 7 days (beginning with the day we boarded) and she was either not there or did not have any forms. (She was nice about it though, unlike her counterpart on Rhapsody.)

We finally signed our names on the bottom of her appointment list because there were no more available appointments, except in the middle of the day on port days, when we had excursions booked.

We got a call on the 5th day saying we would be receiving a form shortly. We finally got it after dinner and the show, the night before we arrived back in Galveston - too late to have it turned in to her by the time the form said it had to be returned. By that time, we were packing and did not have time to fuss with it....and since the LA's desk was vacant, there was nobody to fuss with anyway. Guess we missed our chance!

sounds to me that RCI is missing out on a bunch of free money--they might want to consider increasing their staffing in this dept.

I must have been lucky---I went to book a next cruise on Voyager-without an appointment--and a young man had it done --with a printed receipt and e-mail follow-up in about 15 minutes

but it was not the LA but an assistant that did it

Your 30th? Wow....seems like you should have gotten a free cruise for that many paid cruises! And the LA should have personally carried you piggyback on and off the ship :D !

Well I feel better now, knowing that I'm not the only one this has happened to. I have sent an e-mail to C & A and we'll see what happens. I agree that the LA's area is sadly understaffed. I mean how long would it take to make more copies of the forms when she ran out; and someone else could be handling the completed forms. I'll keep you posted.....
