Top 10 items not to forget!

eyeglass cleaner...it's not available anywhere onboard.

why carry a heavy roll of quarters when you can get as many as you want in the casino?

my friend told me you have to pack in phases:

Phase 1.) Throw everything in you might want to bring.

Phase 2.) Start matching up outfits and get rid of the extra's.

Phase 3.) Try on the outfits to make sure you like the way they fit.

Phase 4.) Count the outfits and only take as many as necessary.

I admit it. I am a packaholic. Every time I have ever cruised, I've brought home a suitcase completely full of clean clothes. Maybe the phases will help me with next year's!!

Leaving in less than 2 weeks. I have only done this once. So, I need some reminders. Other than money and/or the credit card, what are the top 10 items not to forget? Or maybe more than 10!

Extra batteries and memory cards (or film)for the camera

Extra Swimsuit (putting a suit on while still wet is hard)

Extra sunglasses - Expensive to replace on ship or shore

A tote bag to carry stuff on excursions (last two cruises I never received a bag from the ship)

Fanny pack

Suntan lotion and after sun

Water Shoes/sandals - great for walking around ship, not just in water

Small alarm clock - especially if in an inside cabin. Your internal alarm clock will be thrown off.

Small night light for an inside cabin

A light jacket

A small fan for your cabin in case the air doesn't work properly.

Got a tiny metal one at Target or BubbaMart for less than ten bucks. Works wonders on the ship.

Ya' know, I was going to say not to forget Christie Brinkley, but she'd not stay even with me if the cabin was hot...

Ever wonder why anyone would want to leave Hooterville for Pixley? Not gettin' on that train Uncle Joe :)

"You know, your basic high school orgy type of thing. I mean, uh, I'm not talking candlewax on the nipples, or witchcraft or anything like that, no, no, no. Just a couple of hundred kids running around in their underwear, acting like complete animals."

Sorry--your post caused a 'Wierd Science' flashback. :D

I would bring a solid air freshener. I found on some cruises that the bathroom could be a little "stale" - even with the twice daily cleaning by the room steward. If you find that to be the case, pop one of these on the bathroom counter and no more problem. At the end of the cruise, simply throw away.

We like those little mini aerosole cans even better. You can find them at places like The Body Shop, The White Barn Candle Co, Bath and Body Works, sometimes even Pier One.

Just curious as to what the zip lock bags are for?

You can order sandwiches from room service the night before an excursion, put ice to take with you, put wet bathing suits in them (larger ones of course). There are so many uses you'll be glad you have them. We never travel without.

Actually this one comes from one of the Waly Disney World forums (My family's OTHER vacation addiction) but it might just apply here as well.

If your shipboard or ashore activities will involve a lot of walking, take along a can of spray anti-perspirant (we use Arid XX). Spray your feet liberally with it before you put on your socks. This keeps your feet from sweating and therefore prevents blisters.

My DW ran across this tip before our last WDW trip, I was skeptical to say the least, but damned if it didn't work! Not a single blister for any of us. On our previous trip we ALL had problems with blisters.

power strip

zip ties

nail clipper to cut zip ties

Just make sure you remember to keep that nail clipper with you on your carryon or else you'll be doing what we did, trying to get our zip ties off with a butter knife ... Not funny True Story :o

Also remember to call your bank, cc company, and let them know you will be out of the country on certain dates so they do not block you from using your cards!!!

Ohh good idea!!! We never had a problem on any cruises except the last one... we used the card a couple of times in jamaica and then when we got back on the ship we were at the bar and tried to pay for our drinks and our sail and sign card was declined (that was embarassing they took our drinks back) and we had to go to the pursers desk and they said our credit card was declined and it took us about half an hour to finally get the credit card people on the phone and they said the charges lookd suspicious so we had to verify them and then it was fine
