booking a cruise while on a cruise...

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find the thread, but I've heard you can get some great deals by booking a future cruise while your on-board. Is this true? How good of a deal can you get?

These are not discounts, but OBCs (on board credits) and are usually 100-300 per cabin based on length of cruise and category booked.

 

I especially like the open bookings that do not tie you to a sailing.

What cruiseline are you using? You may want to ask your question on that board. If you haven't planned your next cruise...On Crystal you actually get a discount off the price of the next cruise(s). Can't remember what the amount is, though, but it's a set percentage. Anythings better than nothing! :D

How nice! I have not sailed Crystal - yet - but most of the mass market lines do the OBCs.

But do love the extra ship board credit - the amount depnds on the length of the cruise and the cabin category that you book. And so far we have been to combine it with our CLL shipboard credit and our AMEX Plat shipboard credit.
