MaduroJim Posted February 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2008 We are taking the Celebrity Mercury from Auckland New Zealand to Honolulu on March 2nd. Our flight arrives in AKL at 6 am, and the ship isn't available for boarding until 3pm. We've let the cruiseline handle all the air arrangements and transfers, but we can't find any information about what they do with us for the several hours after a 14-hour flight and getting on the boat. Can anyone clear up the mystery? Thanks in advance for any help! Jim
Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2008 No guarantees, as all cruiselines operate differently at times, but I would wager that you'll be taken to a hotel where they will have rented a ballroom. There will probably be some small snacks/meal and beverages and chairs/tables for your use. I'd highly doubt that they would have dayrooms for everyone. Basically, they want to park you until it's time to board, with the least amount of effort on their part, and the least likelihood that you will get "lost" in the interim.
