Cmac3 Posted February 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2008 We are on Mariner of the Seas (Royal Carib) in July and have a one day stop in Cozumel (10 a.m. til 7 p.m.). Is it possible to get to Chichen Itza ruins during that time period? Are there private tour operator flights maybe that anyone recommends? Or would Tulum be our best bet for seeing ruins within those time limits? Thanks.
Nebr.cruiser Posted February 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2008 Unless the ship offers a tour, I think it would be difficult. Usually we don't take the ship excursions, but in this case we would because of the distance involved. My son and DIL did do an excursion there 3 years ago, but our ship was in port until 11. They left about 8 and got back around 7. They enjoyed the tour, but wished they could have been longer at the site. I have heard of tours that fly you there but I don't have any information on that. Chichan Itza is amazing, but Tulum would be a better option for your time frame. I'd still take a ship's tour, because it's a long excursion to Tulum also. Chichan Itza is too far from CZM to tour while on a cruise unless you fly there and back. Tulum, thru the ship, is your best bet for a ruins tour.
