Coadysmom Posted February 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2008 What tpe of formal wear fo you see on the ship when "down under" during January? I would normally bring winter formals, but it's summer there, should I be looking for summer formals?
mochuck Posted February 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2008 Yes, spaghetti straps and a wrap (if needed).
Kathie44 Posted February 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2008 We're just off the Mercury's 1/20 Syd-Auk cruise. When you are Down Under and not N. close to the equator, think Alaska and dress in layers. The dining room was always a bit cool. I usually bring a different outfit for each night, but this time I took one ankle-length black dress with a ruffled hem and wore 3 different tops, all with arm coverings. If you bring a summer formal, bring a wrap. If you do a land tour to the Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock, etc. think HOT and buggy. Otherwise, where the cruise went was hardly ever up in the 80s and very cool at night out on deck. I wore jeans or capris on excursions and shorts only onboard.
