London Hotels?

We are planning to be in London for a couple of days post-cruise and were considering staying at either the Park Plaza Riverbank London on the south side of the Thames; or the Radisson SAS Portman which I think is located in Marylebone. It is our first trip to London and we will be visiting the major attractions. Is anyone familiar with either of these hotels? Any plusses or minuses you can share with us? Any input would be much appreciated.
