Galveston causeway to close sunday morning 2/10

Recommended Posts

Wow, closed from 7:45 to 9:00 AM... this is going to be much more trouble for returning passengers than for those sailing on Sunday.

I wonder if the ship will find out about this, and how many people will miss their flights!

There are two other ways to get into (and out of) Galveston other than over the causeway. From the east you can go south at Winnie, turn west at the Gulf and take your car on the Bolivar Ferry (free) over to Galveston Island.

From the West you can go south on 288 to Surfside, north when you get to the Gulf and pay a $2.00 fee to drive over the San Luis Bridge and enter Galveston from the West End. It's about 25 miles to the ship from the bridge.

The traffic back up, coming and going, on the causeway will be very bad.
