1971fairsky Posted February 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2008 It works for schoolfriends Reunited, so these boards must also work for folks who are sentimental about time adrift on the ocean. Well, if we ever get a dozen folks together, it might be time for a reunion. I have great memories of the Fairsky departing Southhampton in 1971 for Australia. Anybody else nostalgic about those six weeks aboard the sunny Fairsky? :)
Rare cruisemom42 Posted February 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2008 You may want to try posting on the "What ever happened to...." board. There's already a long thread about the old Sitmar line. That's where I first started cruising back in the 1970s.....
1971fairsky Posted November 8, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 8, 2009 thanks. when I did look over on the 'what happen to?' site, I saw reference to a later ship called 'Fairsky' operating in the '80s. I was thinking of an earlier Fairsky that sailed between UK and Australia from around 1958 to 1971, which continued for a little while in the Mediterranean before she burned out.
