Carnival Rome hotel precruise and transfer?

I was thinking of using Carnivals Rome precruise hotel package and transfer to the ship. Has any one done this and what is their experience?

 

I was looking to find out:

 

Are there any tours offered through the hotel?

What time did the transfer pick you up at the hotel to go to the ship?

Did you have any choice in this time?

How many days pre-cruise are you wanting to spend in Rome?

 

We didn't use Carnival.....we arranged our own, and saved $$$. But we went from the airport to Civitavecchia and stayed at a hotel there the night before the cruise. We stayed in Rome for a couple of days post-cruise (also arranged privately and also saving $$$).

 

I hope someone that has used Carnival's package comes to share their experience.
