We will be on Fascination over Easter going to Nassau. I was on her 5 years ago (my first cruise) & she really needed work at that time. So I understand she has gone under renovations. How does she look? Also, on a 4 day, is there a formal night & what night is it? Thanks for your help.

We are going on the fascination May 5th 4night 5 day, so what did you like and not like? How is the new adult pool area and rooms, since the big renovation was in November of 07!!

Good shows, good entertainment??? Tell all!

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I had to take another trip after the cruise. The renovation was only slightly noticeable to me. The rooms are definitely nicer than they were (love that Carnival bedding!), but I didn't see much change in the public areas. The elevators were very dark and HOT and it took 3 days for them to fix elevator call buttons that weren't working when we boarded. I never even ventured to see the new pool area. What I was most impressed with was the friendliness of the whole staff and crew. The food was very good, and the hot soups were served VERY hot. I was however disappointed in the lobster. Not as good as it used to be. Honestly... I think formal night was our worst meal onboard.

Sorry... I don't know your itinerary, so I don't know when your formal night is. As I mentioned before, that was our worst dinner of the week and looking back, I wish we hadn't bothered bringing *nicer* clothes for it. I think I would have been happier with pizza or deli that night.

We didn't go to any shows, either. This was a relaxing quickie vacation for us and DH mostly read in the cabin at night, and I went to the casino :)

We sailed the Fascination last March. Ship was lovely and upgrades are great. The formal night on the 4-day was the day in Key West. We had 6:15 seating the night in Calica...it was empty! Most people didn't go to the dining room but to the buffet with late tours, etc.
