See Misty Fjords w/o Flight

Funds are limited and we are already doing a helicopter/dogsled ride in Juneau. So I can't afford to do a flightseeing tour of Misty Fjords. I am assuming that is the only way to see/visit them? Because I can't find anything but flightseeing.

There are boat tours, but they aren't cheap either. I've sailed into Misty Fjords when cruiseships used to do a portion and for me, flying is superior for the expansive views.

When I went to Alaska on the Serenade of the Seas, the ship went though one section of the Misty Fjords after departing Ketchikan. However, we had also taken a floatplane tour while in Ketchikan. There is no comparison. The floatplane wins hands down.

 

Do the honorable thing, start up a "protection" racket and start holding up liquor stores. You've gotta get the money built up to do a floatplane ride. OH! Stealin' copper's good too for makin' extra cash.

I have been researching and planning our excursions (cruising Radiance of the Seas in July) for months now. I am heartbroken that we will not get to do Misty Fjords, as the reviews, as you have read, are spectacular.

 

We were going to do a cruise tour (skipping the plane in an attempt to spread our dollars a bit further, and the cruise ship excursion is over $300 per person), but it does not fit into our port time.

Those day cruises sound wonderful but like you said wouldnt have time, it's a shame.

 

I guess I didn't look that hard because I found this (http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/shorexDetails.html?groupId=KTN_14) on the NCL website. Which we could swing.
