See Misty Fjords w/o Flight

When I went to Alaska on the Serenade of the Seas, the ship went though one section of the Misty Fjords after departing Ketchikan. However, we had also taken a floatplane tour while in Ketchikan. There is no comparison. The floatplane wins hands down.

Do the honorable thing, start up a "protection" racket and start holding up liquor stores. You've gotta get the money built up to do a floatplane ride. OH! Stealin' copper's good too for makin' extra cash.

(Disclaimer: The above mentioned means of monetary gain are meant only in jest and should NEVER be taken seriously. If you have the money, then by all means do it. But then again, if you don't you can't. Don't be sad, be happy. You'll still be in one of the most beautiful places on earth.)

Charlene,

I have been researching and planning our excursions (cruising Radiance of the Seas in July) for months now. I am heartbroken that we will not get to do Misty Fjords, as the reviews, as you have read, are spectacular.

We were going to do a cruise tour (skipping the plane in an attempt to spread our dollars a bit further, and the cruise ship excursion is over $300 per person), but it does not fit into our port time.

I found two companies doing the round-trip thing. Here are the links to their sites:

Good luck with your planning.
