Port time vs. ship time

My gf and I are set to sail on our first cruise on the Inspiration on 10/17. I already booked 3 ecursions through other sources rather than go through Carnival. I was reading somewhere that the port time is different than the ship's time usually. Is this true? Is there a way to tell the difference? I want to make sure our arrival and departure times are in line with each other.

For example we are supposed to arrive in Grand Caymen at 7am according to Carnival and have a tour scheduled for 9:30am accourding to the tour company. From what I read, there could be several hours difference.

Is there any way to find out for sure? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Keep your watch on shiptime. If there is to be a change, you will find an announcment in the Capers newspaper. The independent tour guides are aware of the ship sailing time and will have you back in plenty of time. Remember you must be aboard one half hour before the sailing time. Have a great cruise
