Ferry to St John other than Redhook?

Ferries to St. John leave from Charlotte Amalie and from Red Hook. Charlotte Amalie is closer to Crown Bay, about 1.7 miles. Look up the ferry schedules for more information, http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu8yWF7JHcs4AHxhXNyoA?p=virgin+islands+ferry+schedules&fr=yfp-t-501&ei=UTF-8.

It is much quicker than the long taxi ride to red hook. The scenery is gorgeous, you pass the resorts, mansions. True the schedule isn't as great, but you can take the 9:00 and return on the 2:15p and still have some time to shop. The shops usually close at 5p.

I think we'll be taking the ferry from Ch. Amalie. We love boat rides (we own and operate charter boats). What is the next departure from St. John back to Char. Amalie after the 2:15? We intend to stay as long as possible at Trunk Bay.

Thanks much

WE docked at crown bay on Disney three years ago, got a cab to charlotte amalie (not as simple as it sounds--there were fewer ships at crown bay, so fewer cabs and fewer people going places compared to havensight), then took the much smaller, choppier boat ride from downtown to st. john, then got in a van/cab to trunk bay, then did the reverse, caught the big ferry to red hook, then got in a van/cab back that stopped first at havensight and then got us to crown bay. takes longer to fill a shared cab when departing from or going to crown bay was our experience. trunk bay was pretty, other places on st. john are pretty, but for us the schlep factor will keep us on st. thomas this go-round.
