magens bay is voted 1 of top ten beaches in the world, but it has no watersports of any kind ( no fish to see either, or coral)

sapphire beach has non motorized (snorkel, sailing, ect..) with waverunners and parasailing acrross the property at the docks...

never been to coki but have heard great things about that as well...

then theres red hook ( again we've never been there..)

We have been to st. thomas about 5 times, and after going to magens bay once, we've gone back to saphire every time...

this time we're going to st. johns trunk bay for a change

There's a free beach much closer to the port - I think it's called Mariner Bay. There were jet skis to rent, chaise lounges, etc. We went in the afternoon after our a.m. snorkeling excursion. I can't remember the exact cab fare, but it was only a few dollars per person, and didn't take very long to get there. Megan's Bay is beautiful, but not very close to the pier. This beach (Mariner Bay) was nice, clean, and suited our needs just fine. It was also very easy to get a cab back to the ship, although we arranged with our driver to come back and pick us up.

Have a great trip!

Sapphire Beach has wave runners around the building - an easy walk. We just rented one a week ago. Sapphire is our favorite Beach on St Thomas....enjoy

We did a land vacation to St Thomas for a week...first of all don't do that it's not worth it because the only time anything is open at all is when a ship is in and then it's crazy and hectic! But it's beautiful! We went to Magans bay...don't know what all the hype is really we were not amused it was pretty but that was it. We did see someone famous on the beach though lol! We did Sapphire a lot prettier than Magans bay but also no water sports and we like water sports. Coki is a very nice one and our favortie is Bolongo Bay. It is a hotel resort but nothing too out there and fancy and there is plenty to do as well there are 2 restaraunts there one fancy one just outdoors and the food is very good. We have been to Bolongo 3 times and really enjoy spending the day there.
