Guarentee Cabin???

I have my third cruise coming up in May, but this is my first time getting a guarentee cabin assignment. When do you usually get your cabin number? Do you get it before sailing or not untill you board the ship? Thanks

I have always had good luck with guarantees.... I usually know well before sailing what the assignment is.

Sometimes you can find out when you get your cruise documents. The one time I booked guarantee I was thrilled with what I received. I booked a guarantee oceanview room, and received a balcony!

That's a question that I can say there is no answer to. I've booked guarantee cabins for 4 of my 5 cruises. Of those 4, I got my assignment 30 - 60 out. The last cruise, we did not receive our assignment until we got tot he dock.

I normally have just waited until I boarded the ship... If you do guarantee then you probably can't change it anyway if you don't like the location.. I have never gotten a bad location with a guarantee.

 

So far I have only have gotten one area that I thought was a bad location.. And I pick that one LOL :eek:

I book through a PVP and I have received my assignment (the ones I got beforehand) from my docs. If you have a TA and you get an assignment, you can find out through him/her or from your docs.

 

PS - I've never had a bad assignment (even the one I picked for myself :D )

We got our cabin # a few days ago, 70 days out. I booked with a TA but found the # on the Crnival site. One day it was TBA, the next day I had a #.

Got our cabin at 62 days out. We booked a balcony gty and got upgraded to an 8C.:D

booked a guarunteed balcony cat 8 amd got an 11 on the triumph did not know until day of cruise

Usually we know when we get our docs; sometimes not until we get to the pier.

It could be when you see the luggage porter at the pier. He will have a passenger manifest and give you tags and tell you the cabin number to put on them.

Nothing. That is the risk you take with a guarantee... regardless of when you get your cabin assignment, that is your assignment unless you want to pay to upgrade. I don't mind doing guarantees because generally I don't care too much about locations... but I'm kind of spoiled on AFT balconies these days, so I've been booking assigned cabins. You just have to be willing to be put anywhere in the category you book...

Change your mind and get excited.

There will be no other cabins available at boarding time.

We did not find out until we arrived at the pier and checked in. We went from 4A (guarantee inside) to 6E (family stateroom with oceanview picture windows on the spa deck)!!

 

It was awesome!

I'm 101 days out and found out mine last week or so....it was on the Carnival site when I went to complete our documents.

Exactly why we always hand pick our cabins at time of booking. We like to know where we're going to be on the ship from the get-go, and prefer to save our gambling for the ship's casino after we're onboard! ; )
