Carnival corp gets casino tips?

 I just got off the Elation and one of the casino dealers told me that all "tips" earned in the casino are pooled company wide (not shipwide) every day because cruises with sea days make better tips than those with more port days. He continued to tell me that after all tips are collected, Carnival Corp takes 40% for themselves, and the remaining 60% is split among all casino employees/dealers company wide on a weekly basis. If this is true, (and the dealer I spoke to swears it is), the Carnival Corp has stooped to a new low taking a share of the tips ....has anyone else heard of this?
