Jewel - Is the dining room open for lunch on embarkation?

Is the main dining room open for lunch on the day of embarkation?

 

I sure hope so. I try to avoid buffets. I was just reading a recent review that said the main dining room wasn't open for lunch and they were told it was closed and the stairway leading down was corded off. I sure hope not.

They will always try to steer you to the buffet. But, we have ALWAYS found one of the dining rooms to be open for lunch on embarkation.

And there is a reason why they push you towards the buffet. Many of the waiters and waitresses are a part of the muster drill, and others are delivering luggage to the cabins.

We've always had our boarding day lunch in a main dining room.

I too go to the main dining room. The crew wants you to go to the buffet but you can go to the main DR. Just act like you know exactly where you're going. :)

We should be thankful! I've been on Cunard, Princess, HAL, Celebrity, and Carnival as well as NCL and NCL is the only line that opens the dining room for lunch on embarkation day.
