Here is the language I got in my e-mail after making my deposit:

 

I have debited your credit card in the amount of $80.00usd for the deposit for the Eco Tour. You will then pay the balance of $280usd (after the 10% discount has been deducted) to a Crew Member in either cash or travelers checks when you go on the tour (In order for you to receive the 10% discount, the balance MUST be paid in either cash or travelers checks).

I was there in January and paid with cash.

We were on Eli's tour last week and paid with cash at the end of the tour...they also needed to see the credit card you originally deposited with. We were then given receipts for the deposit and the cash payment.
