Firsttimescaredcruiser! Posted February 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2008 Ok...first don't jump on me:rolleyes: ---I have every intension of tipping, PLUS!!!!:D I believe they deserve every penny and more. (off soapbox now) My question is just this.... If I don't prepay tips they will be automatically added, correct? So does it matter if I pay before we leave or have them appear the last night? Whatever works best for you!! Some people like to pay them ahead of time just to have the expense out of the way... otherwise, they will appear on your account. Have a great cruise!!!! Firsttimescaredcruiser! Posted February 17, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2008 I was just noticing in our doc's that it wasn't added. Last cruise we had everything added and paid for in advance. I just didn't want any of the staff to think I didn't want them there....ya know??? Don't need to prepay...only if you want.......They tips on board will not appear on your S&S account on the last night. They will be on your account before you even have a beer. It is the first thing charged to your account onboard.......
kdr69 Posted February 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2008 No need to prepay but I have on our first cruise and now on this third one coming up because it is nice not to have that added expense waiting to be paid. Relax and enjoy no need to be scared at all.
TRSGayle Posted February 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We have always prepaid our tips. It seems so much nicer not having to come off that money when you are on the cruise. We just pre pay and get it out of the way, we do however tip a little extra if our room stewart or other servers deserve extra but it is optional. VentureMan_2000 Posted February 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2008 I guess pre-paid tips are fine... but I prefer to only pay up front what I have to. The rest goes on the credit card to be paid when I get back from my cruise. I manage my money very well... so I don't have to worry after the fact with my CC... and pay it off the same month. big_duck Posted February 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2008 This cruise coming up will be the first time we prepaid. I did that though, to take advantage of the high Canadian dollar. Everyone has their reasons.
cathyoo Posted February 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2008 I always prepay my tips. In fact I am calling to pay off my Oct cruise today and have added the tips to my balance. I do this because I consider them part of the fixed cruise cost.
marty30907 Posted February 18, 2008 #11 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We always prepay also. Makes is nicer that we do not own anyone anything when we board the ship. We also give extra to our cabin staff and waiter staff.
millerboy88 Posted February 18, 2008 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2008 How do you go about "pre-paying tips" , just call Carnival and let them know what you would like to do, or can you do this online?
