hawkfanI Posted February 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2008 I didn't see this exact question by doing a search so here goes. What hotels actually have a view of Port Everglades? A lot of hotels advertise being close to Port Everglades, but some are as much as two miles away. We thought it would be fun to be able to see the ships from our hotel this time. Thanks!! RoofingPrincess Posted February 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2008 On the "North American Homeports" section of the main board, there is a board called "East Coast Departures" with a subforum for "Florida Departures". You may have better luck asking this question (or searching) over there: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
sail7seas Posted February 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Front facing tower rooms in Hyatt Pier 66 look right at Port Everglades. Same for front facing tower rooms in Grande Hotel, on 17th Street Causeway......formerly called Marriott.
Bequia Posted February 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2008 If you call to make a reservation at either the Hilton* or the Hyatt, ask for tower rooms facing "south". The Hyatt Pier 66 offers the best views of the entire port. *Hilton Ft Lauderdale Grande, aka Ft Lauderdale Grande, formerly known as the Marriott Marina
Elkhorn20fan Posted February 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Last January we stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Grande before our cruise on The Star Princess. We asked for a room with a view of the port. The next day we where able to set on our balcony, having our coffee and watch the Star Princess dock right across 17th street. It is also a easy walk under 17th street to get a good look at the port. Hope this helps, any other questions about the Grande, let me know.
