Rare 4cats4me Posted February 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We just found out our originally slated 12:40 departure has been changed to 3:45 p.m. in Ft. Lauderdale, so it now appears we'll have a great deal of time to spend before we can fly home. My question is: I thought I'd read about disembarkation procedures where you can pay $15 or $20 per person and the cruiseline will take your luggage to the airport for you. If that is the case, does Ft. Lauderdale have this program? I would love to be able to send our luggage on its way and have the day to tour Ft. lauderdale unencumbered. I am aware of the luggage direct program, but at $90 per piece of luggage, no thanks!:D We don't really want to have to take the Princess tour of Ft. lauderdale if we don't have to. Crown Prince Posted February 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Some airlines have agreements with certain cruise lines (Princess is one of them) to put your luggage through TSA security directly from the ship & you just show up at the boarding gate. It costs $20. You must check with your Airline. ;)
kinlin Posted February 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Just used this service Saturday, in San Juan, disembarking the Crown. Fabulous service! On our second to last night, Princess put paperwork in our room's mailbox. we took it to the purser's desk the next morning. Cost was $15 pp for two bags each. We had a 6:30 pm flight so we packed light shoulder bags and explored Old San Juan and El Morro all day. Then took a $19 taxi ride to the airport. No problem getting our bags upon landing in Philly. I would definately use this service again. Have a wonderful cruise!

Rare 4cats4me Posted February 19, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted February 19, 2008 I think we'll use the Easy Check system in FLL in April! Solves our problem thanks
West Coast Posted June 5, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2008 We hope to be able to use Easy Check next time we travel as we will be doing domestic flights off the ship. I'm so looking forward to not having to haul all that luggage around!
