Marrakech / HAL Tour

Has anyone been on an all day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech? Just wondering if driving so far is enjoyable-- good sights along the way-- etc. It's a 13 hr tour/ am excited- also want to gather any info from others! Thanks so much.

We took the HAL tour from Casablanca to Marrakech in May 2007. Tour was fabulous. Yes, it was a long day; the bus stopped at rest stops (you could always purchase jewelry and souvenirs there too); the buffet luncheon at a nice Marrakech hotel was delicious--included all the wine you could consume. Guides were excellent; we had a security guard dressed in a suit/tie with us at all times. Don't miss this one! It was a memorable day!

With the "new" highway from Casablanca to Marrakech, travel time between the two cities is down to just about two hours. So the trip shouldn't be too exhausting, and you'll have more time to explore Marrakech, which is a wonderful city. Have fun.

What type of sites or experiences did you have on the tour to Marrakech? We're planning to go there either by ship excursion or independent guide when in port at Casablanca in September. Thanks to anyone that reports back on their tour!
