Early Dinner in Curacao

We will be in port on Monday March 31st 2008 and have a late ship departure -- all aboard at 9pm. We are looking for a resturant with a menu that is more than just seafood (one in party does not like seafood), a place with a great view of the water and of course good food. Finally, we will need to arrive at the restaurant as early as 6:30 in order to eat dinner and return to the ship on a timely basis.

Any suggestions or experiences? Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Most restaurants in Curacao have seafood, meat and vegetarian so the person in your party who doesn't like seafood would be safe at 98% of the restaurants.

Some good suggestions near the dock:

- Waterfort Arches (across the canal, next to the high hotel, several restaurants)

- Gouverneur de Rouville, http://www.de-gouverneur.com (looking over the canal at the "Handelskade", if you reserve well in advance you can eat on the balcony else the view is not so great. Be sure to also try the bar's selection of a few dozen different rums, specifically the Cuba Libre with Havana Club 3yo)

- Bistro Le Clochard, http://www.bistroleclochard.com (in the Riffort near the dock)

Some options further out (arrange for a cab or a rental car)

- Hook's Hut, http://www.hookshut.com (literally on the beach)

- Mambo Beach (hippest beach bar / restaurant of Curacao, good pasta)

- Nemo, http://www.nemocuracao.com (at the Lion's Dive Hotel, great view over the palm trees and Seaquarium Beach)

Carib_traveler -- thanks much! These appear excellent and very much along the lines of what we had in mind. I will check each -- but Gouverneur de Rouville sounds excellent. I did find the Bistro which also appears good. Thanks again.
