zoe Posted February 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2008 I really want to ride bikes while in Grand Cayman. I see an excursion that starts at Spanish Bay Reef Resort, but I would rather bike on our own, then wait for people to pet the turtles, etc. I am having a difficult time finding any information regarding renting bikes at the resort (It says available for free for guests), nor a bike route. Anyone here ever tried this?
addie Posted March 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2008 Has anyone taken the bike excursion offered by Royal Caribbean? Is it fun? Are there alot of hills?
Sheal Posted March 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2008 We did RC's excursion about 5 years ago. I don't remember any hills. We made a stop at Hell where we mailed a couple of postcards, kids got a drink, took photo, hit the Rum Factory and Turtle Farm and also rode through some upscale neighborhood back. We enjoyed the excursion, I thought it was a fairly easy ride.
caymanjohn Posted March 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2008 The island is pretty much dead flat but neither the roads nor the local drivers are particularly bicycle-friendly. I live here and I can't think of anywhere that does individual bike rentals. The guided rides look like a nightmare with 20-30 riders in convoy on an already busy road.
