Does being a Past Cruiser mean anything?

When you fill out the survey at the end of the cruise should your opinion mean anything different if you've been on 10 cruises versus the person who is on their first cruise? Should Carnival put any more value on a past cruiser than a 1st timer?

I think there is something to be said for both. A "seasoned" cruiser has lots of experiences to compare their current vacation to. They can compare and contrast, and provide solutions to service problems that a new cruiser might not be aware of. Past cruisers obviously have a stake in their voice being heard, since most will be returning a 3rd, 4th or 32nd time.

That being said,

There is also a wealth of information to be gleaned from a first timer. Since they have not cruised before, they have other types of vacations to compare to. They can also answer that most important of questions that Carnival (and other lines) have for their guests: "Will there be a second cruise?" Then the second most important question: "Will that cruise be with us?"

I think both groups have valuable info. to share. The cruise lines should read and absorb comments from both groups equally.

Past Guest status allows you access to Carnival's Loyalty programs. These can include special pricing on cruises... or cruise upgrades, and it always includes the Carnival Past Guest Party on your next cruise.

Carnival also keeps track of your History and awards you VIP status after 10 cruises. There are some nice perks to this, such as priority boarding, free laundry, and some other stuff too.
