darladelight Posted February 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2008 I have always wanted to do a review of my crusies but since this is my first i will keep it brief. I am open for any questions you may have. This was the first RCL cruise that my sister and I took, our previous cruise was with Carnival. Day 1, arrived at port @ 11 am, had to wait @30 minutes for the ship to clear. Embarkation process was a breeze and were on the ship within 10 minutes of the lines opening. We walked around the ship for a bit and then went to the winjammer for lunch. Had some sub sandwhiches and fruits. We both thought the food was good but it is hard to mess up a sub:p. Went to our stateroom at 1pm and pretty much hung out there till the muster drill. Walked the ship and entered a raffle for liquor. I WON a bottle of Casino Liquor which was delivered on the last day (I don't win anything so i was excited. Got to know Bolero's and the Casino very well Day 2. This was a sea day. We ordered a room service for breakfast. This was fairly tasty. We played the morning bingo where my sister won. Afterwards we hung out in Solarium for a few hours and had lunch. Day 3. Grand Cayman. Went to Seven mile beach by bus $2.50 per person, each way. Walked around port area, shopped and went back to ship. Day 4. Jamaica. I loved this island and would go back in a heartbeat. Took a tour with Ochosriostours (i hope i can say that) Alfonso and Greg took very good care of us all day. We climbed Dunn's River Falls. This was scary and fun all at the same time. Bought some coffee and knick-knacks. Actually missed our tour bus cause we were having so much fun. Greg and Alfonso had alerted one of the locals to call them when they found us and they personally came to pick us up. Walked around port area and ventured into downtown. My sister, a stamp collector, made the mistake of asking a local where the Post Office was. She offered to take us if we went to here shop. Long story short but my sister HAD to buy something from this woman. We have a new catchphrase that we use "I do something nice for you, You do something nice for me". Needless to say, my sister wont make that mistake again. Overall, Jamaica was my favorite port so far of any cruise. The people were warm and friendly and the men were flirtatious, I received 2 marriage proposals and a dinner date offer. The island was abosolutly beautiful. I suspect my experience was a bit different from most becasue i am african-american. I never felt unsafe Day 5. Sea day, Slept most of day as the pain from climbing Dunn's finally set in. Gave some more money to the casino and we ordered from room service. Last day. Did the travel lite self-debarkation as we had an early flight. By the time the line started moving we were outside the pier in 10 minutes. This was a great cruise, I loved the Layout of Enchantment. Thought the staff was great. All were very helpful and a pleasure to have met. Our waiter Sabit was so sweet and Lordes our assitant waiter could not have done a better job. Having good tablemates and fun staff made dinner a welcome part of the day. If you have questions please email me
