tomandlyn Posted February 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2008 We are driving into Miami the day before our cruise and need some advice for any decent hotels, beach hotel would be nice, (have children) that allow you to leave your car there and will shuttle you to POM. tampa-chrissie Posted February 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2008 I'm looking for the same exact thing. Let me know what you come up with.
TRAVELINGRAMPS Posted February 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2008 In May we are staying at SpringHill Suites Miami Airport. It's part of the Marriott group, price is not bad, you can leave your car there for nothing and they will arrange for transportation to the pier for $10 per person each way. Here's their number if you want to call them 1-305-265-0144 to check on it.

Margienj Posted February 28, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We are booked at the LaQuinta Miami Airport East in two weeks and have been told that we can park free for up to 14 days. They also offer free breakfast and a shuttle to the port. You have to get a taxi back to the hotel upon return. I guess we'll find out soon how good it is. I don't know of any hotels in Miami Beach that have a shuttle to the pier. Also, parking is scarce to it is expensive everywhere out on the beaches. For free parking and shuttle, you'll probably have to stay in Miami.

You appear to be correct, on the parksleepandfly dot com website there are options only under Hotels & Parking...and non under Cruiseport Hotels & Parking for Miami. Three hotels that offer the stay/park packages that friends are considering are: the La Quinta Miami Airport East, Hyatt's Summerfield Suites, Marriott's Springhill Suites Miami South, and Marriott's Fairfield Inn Miami Airport West/Doral Area. Plant Posted April 14, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2008 How did you get on and how was the hotel in general,??, did you have to pre book the shuttle??Thanks in advance!! We stayed at this LaQuinta a few weeks ago. We didn't have a car, but I understand that parking during a cruise is free. There's a Bennigans restaurant a short walk away, but we were so tired after flying all day that we ordered pizza delivery :) . There's nothing else within walking distance. The hotel was one of the nicest LaQuinta's we've stayed in. They offer a continental breakfast and their "shuttle" to the port (at least for us) was a big bus, not a van. It may depend on how many people are going to the port. We booked the shuttle when we checked in the night before. It left around 11:15 and stopped at all the ships. We would definitely stay there again for one night pre-cruise.

Thanks for the feedback, we will be dropping the car off at the airport the evening before and hopefully get a shuttle back to the hotel from the airport then use the shuttle from the hotel to the port in the morning.
