Bean72 Posted February 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2008 The beach is sitting on coral, and in some spots I found it to be quite sharp, especially when getting into the water. Water shoes would have definitely been more comfortable to me that day!
Merion_Mom Posted February 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Some parts are rockier than others, but yes, I wish that I had had water shoes there.
Kruzeagain Posted February 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We went to Hideaway Beach, and it was nice and sandy. Our 10 yr old DD merrily bounced in and out of the water all day in bare feet. Other beaches can be a bit rough around the edges esp on the windward side (Dragon's Breath etc). Happy Cruising, Alan PS...have a LabaDoozy for me.
DonnaK Posted February 28, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We found that the beaches on the bay side (facing the ship) were nice and sandy, and we had no problem walking around barefoot there.
PhoenixCruiser Posted February 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2008 I didn't even go into the water and cut my foot on a rock while walking, next time I will wear tennis shoes :) ###

I didn't even go into the water and cut my foot on a rock while walking, next time I will wear tennis shoes To the left of the tender pier, mostly sandy. To the right of the pier, quite rocky. I made the mistake of being barefoot.
jdbmga Posted February 28, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Do they serve lunch down on Hideaway Beach?
KarinaGW Posted February 28, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Yep. That's where I always eat. It's always much less crowded than the other two locations.
