uromac Posted February 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Hi! An internet agency is offering us a good deal similar to another agency but is also including the NCL coupon book (btw, we're thinking of going on the Gem)? is it worth going with this company for the coupon book? What coupons are included and are the coupons a good deal? We haven't been on NCL for a very long time (we've gone on Disney, RCCL, and Celebrity - so we're hoping for positive feedback and a different but great experience on NCL via NYC!) Thanks! salty dingo Posted February 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2008 The coupon book has been discussed here recently - you may want to search for it. The consensus is that the books, while they do have a couple items that may be worth $5 or so, are generally useless. Most of the "coupons" are for items that do not require a coupon and are available on board. My advice is to not let the coupon book influence your choice of booking agent. Go by referrals, or by membership in the CLIA.
expoguide Posted February 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2008 I just booked the Gem for April and was offered the coupon book from an online agency - l found a scan online of the current offers (can't find the link now - will keep looking). Most of the coupons are useless only a few that we will be using, 2 for 1 in a speciality restaurant (first day only) and some coupon for 'free' $5 play in the casino - other then that they are all pretty useless. Buy 2 drinks get third free on first day only might also get ue ;-). Some of the others I remember were buy X (over 100) minutes of internet time get some more min free, buy X pictures get something free. Buy a 'dive-in' t-shirt and hat and get $3 off... Mostly they are all coupons to get NCL to extract more money from ya!

The best coupon, IMO, is for buy-one-get-one at the specialty restauraunt (the 1st night only). I recently saw the coupon book online but can't remember where I saw it. Might have been in pdf format or something.

heelfan94 Posted February 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We had a coupon book on our first NCL cruise and I agree with the consensus that it's not a big deal. I wouldn't let it make or break a booking for me. :)
ssolomon56 Posted February 28, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We were on the Dawn between Christmas and New Years, and a coupon book for each of us was in our cabin when we checked in. I figured it was a bonus for being a Latitudes member. The only thing we used ours for was the match bet at the casino.
dlambright Posted February 28, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2008 We booked our cruise through a TA and NCL sent a coupon book along with the luggage tags and shore excursion book. I don't think you are getting anything that is not offered to everyone.
mayrashke Posted February 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Quick question about the 2 for 1 first night restaurant coupon. If we are 2 adults & 2 kids does that mean we only get one meal free with the one coupon we have? Thanks in advance if anyone has info.
uromac Posted February 29, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Thanks everyone for their responses! I guess the coupon book is not a big deal ,and since we're Latitudes members hopefully we'll get the book anyway! If anyone can find that pdf file with the coupons that would be great just in case!! Thanks again! Melissa :)

Not too much that I am interested in however we will use the first night 2 for 1 dinner...at a restaurant that has the highest charge! teachc5 Posted March 2, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 2, 2008 I booked directly through NCL but I am a latitudes member. Will I get a coupon book in my cabin?
cp556 Posted March 2, 2008 #16 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Quick question about the 2 for 1 first night restaurant coupon. If we are 2 adults & 2 kids does that mean we only get one meal free with the one coupon we have? Thanks in advance if anyone has info. On Majesty last month we used the first-night specialty dining coupon ... there were two of us. Each of us received the 1/2 price meal. Plus, we dined early (5:30, I think) so we saved an additional 50% .... so in essence, what should have been $30 for two was $7.50 ... now THAT's a deal.... snow1 Posted March 2, 2008 #17 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks so much for the link to the coupon book. It's our first NCL cruise and we can't wait.
chrisbd1 Posted March 2, 2008 #18 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Generally the coupon books come from TA's, not a perk for Latitudes members. We got them when we booked two cruises with a TA and not on the cruise that wasn't booked using a TA. At the bottom of the coupons on that link it says" Only the Original certificate can be used". I don't think you can print one out and use it.
