Entering U.S./alcohol available at airport?

Since we are entering the U.S. to catch our cruise, we can only bring in one liter (bottle) of alcohol. I had wanted to buy a 3 liter box of wine to place in my luggage but I am afraid that it would just be confiscated by Customs, let alone the ship/port.

 

Is there alcohol available to be bought at the Maimi airport upon arrival? Since we are non-Americans can we buy it at a duty free and then take it into the U.S. at that point? Even if not duty free is it just available? I was thinking of a 3-liter box only for compactness and ease of in the suitcase.

Where are you flying from? You normally buy your duty free BEFORE you enter the United States, not when you land here.
